Sardaar Ji 3 Beats Salman Khan’s Sultan in Pakistan, Sardaar Ji 3’s Shocking Success Story

The film, featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, and Hania Aamir, was not released in India due to political and public backlash related to the inclusion of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The producers faced significant criticism, and even Neeru Bajwa deleted her promotional posts. This decision resulted in an estimated 40% loss in revenue.

“Sardaar Ji 3” is performing exceptionally well at the Pakistan box office, emerging as a blockbuster and breaking the record previously held by Salman Khan’s “Sultan,” which was the highest-grossing Indian film in Pakistan.

On Day 1, the film collected INR 1.06 crores. The momentum continued with INR 1.20 crores on Day 2 and INR 1.35 crores on Day 3. Although there was a slight dip on Day 4 with a box office collection of INR 85 lakh, the overall response from Pakistani audiences was very positive, contributing significantly to the film’s overseas success.

Diljit Dosanjh himself stated that while they suffered losses, he wasn’t keen on releasing the film under such controversy. Despite the setback, the film is expected to recover costs through its release in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and particularly in Pakistan.

The cinema was completely packed in Pakistan, and even during the 1:30 pm show the next day, only a few seats were vacant upfront. The enthusiasm in Pakistan was overwhelming, with audiences responding enthusiastically, especially to Hania Aamir’s entry scene.

Sardar Ji 3 continues the franchise that started in 2015. This installment is a comedy-horror or “horror comedy” where the primary goal is to make you laugh rather than scare you.

The plot revolves around a haunted castle owned by a mysterious character. Diljit Dosanjh (as Jaggi) and Hania Aamir are brought in to deal with the ghost. Jaggi is accompanied by his mentor Muddy Ustad and has witches as his admirers.

Neeru Bajwa plays a witch and initially seems to be the lead heroine, but eventually, Hania Aamir’s character steals the spotlight. The film cleverly blends situational comedy with supernatural elements, keeping audiences engaged.

Diljit Dosanjh, a superstar of Punjabi cinema and a celebrated singer, delivers a powerful performance despite appearing slightly forced in the opening scenes. His comedic timing gradually improves and wins the audience over.

Neeru Bajwa, a Canadian national who has worked in Punjabi films since 2000, impresses with her expressions and timing. Her dialogue delivery, at times, reminds one of Pakistani actress Saima, possibly by coincidence.

Hania Aamir stands out as the surprise package. Contrary to initial doubts, she uses her own voice with a strong Punjabi (Sikh) accent, adding great energy to her role. Her grand entry sequence received loud cheers in the cinema. Her chemistry with Diljit is fresh and lively.

Supporting actors like Gulshan Guru (as Lahariya) and Nasir Choti deliver notable performances. Nasir Choti’s natural style and brilliant comedic timing elevate many scenes.

The film features three to four songs, including “Jaz Tera Mukh Veda Soni Lagdi” performed by Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir, which is particularly memorable.

Despite a few continuity errors — for example, Hania Aamir’s headphones appearing incorrectly placed in one scene — the film maintains a good technical grip overall. The director, who also assisted on Sardar Ji 2, manages the comedy, action, and drama without unnecessary drag.

Sardar Ji 3 is a light-hearted, fun film with the right mix of comedy, music, and supernatural thrills. While the initial 15–20 minutes might feel a bit slow, it quickly finds its rhythm.

Despite losing the Indian market, the film has done exceptionally well in Pakistan, especially in big cinema chains like Q Cinemas, Universal Cinemas, Nueplex, and Centaurus Cineplex.
