Big B’s 80th birthday celebrated in a special way at Sherwood College

Nainital, Big-B i.e. Amitabh Bachchan, who is called the superhero of the century, turned 80 today on October 11. This historic occasion was celebrated with gaiety at his school-Sherwood College located in Nainital. On this occasion, a special prayer meeting was organized in the chapel of the school in the morning under the leadership of Principal of the school, Amandeep Sandhu. After this a huge cake was cut in the school premises and distributed among the school staff to all the students.

During this, the students of the school congratulated by singing ‘Birth Day Song’ while Principal Sandhu congratulated cine actor Bachchan in the school related events, his first acting in plays from here and winning the prestigious Candle Cup of the school, in the construction of the school’s swimming pool. He told that in the period of 1958, the then Principal Levlin took the initiative to build the city’s second swimming pool at Sherwood College. Then the school was short of resources, so students of 1957-58 batch, including Amitabh, used to throw stones in their bags to be broken with dynamite for the construction of the swimming pool. The children who threw the most stones were given more opportunities to visit the market as a reward. He is happy that the school has inherited the legacy of the century legend Amitabh Bachchan, which is being carried forward by the children of the school. All the teachers and non-teaching staff including Hem Chandra Pandey, SD Pathak, Poonam Swamy, AP Singh and Bursar Basu Sah were present in the program.
